2022 Volunteer Committees
ADMISSIONS – Assist with checking for proper admission credentials and administer “will-call” for tickets that have been left for future pick-up. You will also provide general information to spectators. Admission gates are located at the main gate off of Tremont Road and a second admissions area off of McCoy Road. Must be 21 years of age or older.
TOURNAMENT CREDENTIALS – Ensure only those with proper credentials are admitted into the clubhouse and on-course skybox venues and act as concierge for VIP guests. Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
COURTESY CARS – Drive tournament cars to transport professionals and professional families to and from the airport and golf course and various locations. You will not be driving your own vehicle while shuttling players, guests or VIPs. You must have a valid driver’s license. Must be 25 years of age or older.
HOLE MARSHALS – Maintain walkways throughout the golf course, provide ball spotting to players and control the movement and chatter of spectators. Must be 18 years of age or older.
LEADERBOARDS – Keep leaders’ scores up to date as play evolves on manual leader boards. Each committee member will assist with the placement of magnetic numbers and letters in the accurate placement as seen on the handheld device on each board. May have to climb ladders and work on elevated platforms. Must be 21 years of age or older.
MEDIA CENTER – Assist Media Director and Web.com TOUR media officials in the media tent with media registration, answering phones, distributing information and other administrative needs. Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
ON-COURSE SERVICES – Stock and deliver on-course refreshments and ice to tee boxes, distribute mail, packages, tee sheets and spectator hand books to appropriate locations. Removal of litter/recycling from the golf course and limited surrounding areas. This includes set-up the weekend prior to tournament and final clean-up on Monday following tournament week. Requiring heavy lifting and manual labor, must consider physical demands of lifting and being active during a shift. Will work in teams throughout the day. Must be 18 years of age or older. Junior Volunteers ages 14-17 are welcome to serve alongside a parent/guardian.
PRO-AM OPERATIONS – Register amateurs and professionals and organize and hand out gifts to the amateur guests at four pro-am’s throughout tournament week. Two pro-ams will be on-site at The Ohio State University Golf Club – Scarlet Course and two pro-ams will be offsite. Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
STANDARD BEARER - A committee of adults and youth age 12 and up to accompany each group of Korn Ferry Tour professionals by carrying a two-sided scoring sign inside the ropes during play and display scores. An adult walking scorer will also accompany you. The volunteer must be able to carry the standard (5-6 lbs.) for 18 holes. This is a FREE volunteer position, you must enter SBV21 to get the FREE package. Must be 12 years of age or older.
THE GOLF CHANNEL – Support television broadcast production team with needs related to the events live broadcast coverage. Additional Requirements: Must work Thursday through Sunday of Tournament week. Must be 18 years of age or older.
UNIFORM DISTRIBUTION – Inventory and distribute uniform packages to all registered volunteers, approx. 600 volunteers. *This committee’s shifts always take place one to two weeks before tournament week* Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
VOLUNTEER HEADQUARTERS – Manage volunteer check-in and oversee general operations of the volunteer headquarters including food & beverage set-up if needed. Assist with the volunteer party planning on Sunday following play. Must be 21 years of age or older.
WALKING SCORERS – Walk 18 holes and record accurate hole-by-hole information for each player in group and transmit this information to Scoring Central via handheld computers. Golf knowledge is necessary to work this committee. Must be 18 years of age or older.
