Volunteer Committees

ADMISSIONS & MAIN ENTRANCE: Responsible for scanning all tickets and credentials, assisting with walk-up sales, and managing will-call. Volunteers also support as Tournament Ambassadors, being the ‘first impression’ and greeting guests at the main entrance. Shifts Thursday-Sunday
COURTESY CARS: Drive tournament cars to transport professionals and professional families to and from the airport and golf course and various locations. You will not be driving your own vehicle while shuttling players, guests or VIPs. You may also be asked to assist with golf carts. You must have a valid driver’s license. Must be 25 years of age or older. Shifts Saturday Pre-Tournament-Monday Post-Tournament
COMMUNICATIONS: Receive accurate hole-by-hole information for each player from the Walking Scorers via handheld computers. Golf knowledge is necessary to work this committee. Must be 21 years of age or older. Shifts Wednesday-Sunday
LEADERBOARDS: Keep leaders’ scores up to date as play evolves on manual leaderboards. May have to climb ladders and work on elevated platforms. Each committee member will assist with the placement of magnetic numbers and letters in the accurate placement as seen on the handheld device on each board. Must be 21 years of age or older. Shifts Wednesday-Sunday
MARSHALS: Maintain walkways throughout the golf course, provide gallery control and assist with player evacuation from the golf course should the tournament have a weather delay. Must be 18 years of age or older. Shifts Wednesday - Sunday
MEDIA CENTER: Assist Media Director and Korn Ferry Tour media officials in the media tent with media registration, answering phones, distributing information and other administrative needs. Must be at least 21 years of age or older. Shifts Monday-Sunday
ON-COURSE SERVICES: Stock and deliver on-course refreshments and ice to tee boxes, distribute mail, packages, tee sheets, magazines, and spectator hand books to appropriate locations. Removal of litter/recycling from the golf course and limited surrounding areas. This includes set-up the weekend prior to tournament and final clean-up on Monday following tournament week. Requiring heavy lifting and manual labor, must consider physical demands of lifting and being active during a shift. Will work in teams throughout the day. Must be 18 years of age or older. Junior Volunteers ages 14-17 are welcome to serve alongside a parent/guardian. Shifts Sunday Pre-Tournament-Sunday
PLAYER REGISTRATION: Assist in collecting entry fees, welcoming players and providing them with necessary credentials plus general information about the tournament. Provide a broad range of concierge services to players and player guests. Must be 21 years of age or older. Shifts Monday-Sunday
PRO-AM OPERATIONS: Register amateurs and professionals at four pro-ams throughout tournament week. Two pro-ams will be on-site at The Ohio State University Golf Club – Scarlet Course and two pro-ams will be offsite. Must be at least 21 years of age or older. Shifts Monday-Wednesday
SCORING TENTS: Collect scorecards, verify scores are added correctly and scorecards are properly signed by contestants. Must be at least 21 years of age or older. Shifts Thursday-Sunday
SHOTLINK GREENSIDE OPERATORS: Volunteers in this committee will manage greenside scoring equipment to provide enhanced accuracy to Shotlink. Volunteers will be stationed at each of the 18 greens. It is recommended that volunteers in this committee have a general golf scoring knowledge and are comfortable with basic technology. Shifts Thursday-Sunday
STANDARD BEARERS: A committee of adults and youth age 12 and up to accompany each group of Korn Ferry Tour professionals by carrying a two-sided scoring sign inside the ropes during play and display scores. An adult walking scorer will also accompany you. The volunteer must be able to carry the standard (5-6 lbs.) for 18 holes. This is a complimentary junior volunteer position. GOLF CHANNEL: Support television broadcast production team with needs related to the events live broadcast coverage. Must be 18 years of age or older. Additional Requirements: Must work Thursday through Sunday of Tournament week.
TOURNAMENT CREDENTIALS: Ensure only those with proper credentials are admitted into the clubhouse and #18 green skybox venue and act as concierge for VIP guests. Must be at least 21 years of age or older. Shifts Monday-Sunday
UNIFORM DISTRIBUTION: Inventory and distribute uniform packages to all registered volunteers, approx. 600 volunteers. *This committee’s shifts always take place one to two weeks before tournament week* Must be at least 21 years of age or older. Shift Wednesday, September 11th & Thursday, September 12th
VOLUNTEER HQ: Manage volunteer check-in and oversee general operations of the volunteer headquarters including food & beverage set-up if needed. Assist with the volunteer party planning on Sunday following play. Must be 21 years of age or older. Shifts Monday-Sunday
WALKING SCORERS: Walk 18 holes and record accurate hole-by-hole information for each player in group and transmit this information to Scoring Central via handheld computers. Golf knowledge is necessary to work this committee. Must be 18 years of age or older. Shifts Wednesday-Sunday
