Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship volunteer registration now open for 2021 tournament

Posted on Monday, April 05, 2021

Columbus, Ohio – Tournament officials announced today that volunteer registration for the 15th annual Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship is now open to the public at www.ncc-golf.com.

The 2021 Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship will be held August 23 – 29 at The Ohio State University Golf Club – Scarlet Course and will be the second of three stops in the Korn Ferry Tour Finals.

“We are extremely excited to open volunteer registration and continue working with this very special group of people that are the lifeblood of the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship,” said tournament director Kip McBride. “Our volunteers play an essential role in every aspect of the tournament and are vital to our goal of raising charitable donations for pediatric cancer research and treatment at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Their efforts helped to raise a record $2,670,000 last year alone for Nationwide Children’s, and more than $16.2 million since the tournament’s inception in 2007.”

Volunteers have a variety of different areas available to choose from during registration. These areas represent the many tasks required to conduct a Korn Ferry Tour Finals Event. A description of each area is available at www.ncc-golf.com/volunteer.

All volunteers receive a uniform that consists of a golf shirt and cap. Volunteers also receive breakfast and lunch for each day they work. To cover the cost of the uniform volunteers are charged a fee of $45. These contributions represent an additional way volunteers help maximize the charitable donations the tournament provides to Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

The Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship will play a pivotal role in determining who will earn PGA TOUR membership for the 2022 season.

The field for the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship will compete over 72 holes of stroke play, with a cut to the top-65 players and ties after 36 holes. Golf Channel will broadcast tournament coverage from Thursday’s opening round to the trophy presentation on Sunday in high definition.

General admission for this award-winning stop on the Korn Ferry Tour is free. For details and general tournament information, please call (614) 764-GOLF or visit http://www.ncc-golf.com.
